Cubit Lodge is a Grade II listed property set in a woodland surrounding with extensive views of the countryside. The works were to repair, conserve and upgrade the property while incorporating a new kitchen extension.
The new extension is an oak and glass intervention nestled between the original lodge and it’s 1980’s extension, with a bespoke kitchen fitted out by a local kitchen designer.
Significant repairs included re-slating the existing conical slate roof with reclaimed local scantle slate laid in diminishing courses all carried out by traditional trades people, and the fireplace repair with installation of a new log burner.
The lodge was redecorated and furnished throughout to a very high specification including retaining the original Cornish Range in the old kitchen. Insulation was carefully integrated to improve the overall efficiency without compromising the original fabric.
