Ponsanooth Methodist Hall is a Grade II listed community building that was almost completely destroyed by a fire in 2008. The Church Hall Trustees worked tirelessly to obtain funding to allow the hall to be rebuilt. Funding was finally secured from the Methodist Church, The Big Lottery Building Fund, Garfield West Foundation and local community fundraising and so in 2013, building work began. The old hall was renovated to create a large social space, community café and office spaces.

The hall was made fully accessible with the addition of a lift and accessible toilets. The building performance was upgraded with new insulation to save ongoing energy and carbon costs.

In May 2014 the Hall was re-opened as a community hub for the village of Ponsanooth, providing a facility for local residents and business to use and enjoy.

“Throughout planning, accessibility and sustainability have been key considerations. Three different sized, self contained rooms capable of simultaneous use will enable this long awaited facility to be enjoyed by all.”
