This exciting landmark development will regenerate an under-utilised brownfield site by providing new state-of-the-art headquarters for Porthia Properties and Cornwallis Care Services, replacing their existing premises in St Ives.
Located in close proximity to Tolvaddon Junction and the A30, the 2,500 sqm of office accommodation will provide a more central base from which to manage care operations and train staff, whilst also providing valuable space for businesses within the local community.
The building adopts the latest thinking in contemporary and sustainable office design. The open plan, flexible layout could accommodate up to 185 employees and maximises natural daylight and ventilation levels to promote health and wellbeing. Proposals also include green roofs, solar panels, and air source heat pumps to reduce the building’s operational energy.
Sitting at the gateway to Cornwall’s Mining UNESCO World Heritage
Site, the building’s upper storeys are wrapped with bronze-clad vertical fins to celebrate the tin and copper mining which took place at South Crofty until 1998.
