This bespoke semi-detached development of two private dwellings is on the site of a 1950’s bungalow on the edge of St Ives and enjoys spectacular panaramic views of St Ives Bay.

The joined gable roof forms visually distinguish the two residences and presents the opportunity for large windows orientated towards the principle aspect across the bay. The traditional slate material of the roof and first floor cladding is sympathetic with the surrounding built environment and allows the new house to sit comfortably into the St Ives context and coastal landscape.

The reverse living layout has the first floor dedicated to open plan living areas, kitchen and a large balcony area to take full advantage of the views available. Bedrooms are cosily positioned on the ground floor. The modern aesthetic and layout allows for a contemporary family development.

The client worked with local suppliers and artisans to provide a unique and characterful interior, including locally produced windows from St Ives Joinery and feature lighting from Tom Raffield.
