Reskadinnick Barn

  • Client Private
  • Location Reskadinnick, Cornwall
  • Completed 2017

Reskadinnick Barn is adjacent to Reskadinnick Manor House, both are grade II listed and set in 10 acres of gardens with woodland, river and deer. Reskadinnick Barn was disused and in poor repair. The works undertaken sympathetically restored the barns and converted them to holiday accommodation.

All works were contained within the original building form and involved sub dividing the barn into five holiday lets. Three of the lets required a mid floor to be inserted to create the bedrooms and bathrooms. All lets were decorated to a very high standard, with thermal upgrades, damp proofing, log fires and bespoke staircases, all sympathetically woven into the existing fabric.

Existing features were highlighted including exposed original beams and stonework. Original openings and nooks were preserved and integrated into the interior design. Found objects from the old barn were kept for display.

"Partnering with Poynton Bradbury Architects added huge value and saved us money when we renovated our listed property. The advantages of being able to tailor the scope of service to suit our brief and budget benefited us immensely".
